Making Money Off Of Fantasy Sports

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
If you have ever played fantasy sports, you may have felt jealous of those people who you see on television, getting paid to do nothing but talk about fantasy sports; one thing you may not have realized, however, is that you can actually make money off of fantasy sports as well - and while you might not make a living off of fantasy sports, making any money at all would be nothing to complain about!

Winning the leagues you are in is the best stepping stone for making money off of fantasy sports, as this will give you both the prize money from the league and the know-how and confidence to make money off of your opinions and advice; if you win only one out of every 10 leagues you are in (assuming standard 10-team leagues), you will be breaking even - and you will make a profit, of course, if you are able to win more leagues than that!

After you have studied and begun to experience success in the leagues in which you take part, you can also begin sharing your knowledge with others in order to make money; you can do this by setting up a website of your own, on which you give fantasy advice, or you can join up with a site such as Bleacher Report, which will help you to quickly climb high in search engine rankings, and to start building a readership right away.

And selling an eBook is one of the most lucrative ways to make money with fantasy sports (and in fact, if you have studied enough to truly become an "expert," you can sell a new eBook at the start of each season!); try giving away a piece of the eBook for free, and use this as a bit of bait to draw people in for the full purchase!

The more time you spend studying and understanding fantasy sports, and the longer you have been playing, the better position you will be in for making money - and soon, you will be able to get paid to have fun doing something that everyone else is doing for free!

Understanding Why You Have To Study For The SAT Essay

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
The most important part of your college entrance package - when that time comes - will be your SAT score or your ACT score. If you hope to achieve success on these tests, you have to spend a lot of time studying; so if the SAT is the test you have chosen to take, hopefully you have also been spending some time studying. But even many of those who have spent a significant amount of time studying end up spending no time looking at the things they will need to know for the SAT essay. After all (many people tend to think), an essay is an essay; if the prompts for each essay on the SAT is different, what is the point of studying? But once you understand how the SAT essay works, you will actually understand how important it is that you take the time to study for it!

The SAT essays are graded by people who have been hired to grade SAT essays all day long! These people must grade each essay quickly, as they are supposed to grade a certain number per hour in order to get through the stacks and stacks of essays around them. The SAT essay graders, generally speaking, only spend about five minutes grading each essay; because of this, they must look for specific things. And what's more, the scores that different graders give the same essay must match up closely; otherwise, the essay will end up going to a master grader. It is not good for these regular graders if their essays have to go to the master grader, so they have to follow the same grading procedure as every other grader!

Because of this, it will be immensely helpful if you know what the procedure is for these SAT graders. You will be able to focus on the items that are on the graders' checklists - making sure you fulfill these items - if you know what is on the checklists. Once you do this, those who are grading your essay will be able to mark "excellent" for every area they are looking for - knowing that the other graders are doing the same.

If you have been studying for the SAT, spend some time in the "essay" section of the book you have; and if you do not yet have an SAT study book, you need to pick one up!

Outdoor Party Game Ideas

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
Summer time is wonderful for cookouts on the patio while hanging out drinking cool drinks in the hot sun. Having a great summer party is what makes summer, summer. When you have a gathering of friends it is really fun to enjoy some outdoor games along with your food and beverages. You have a ton of options to choose from, like the classic horseshoes to bean bag games.

You can even play croquet and have a great time with some fun house rules. Croquet for those unfamiliar uses mallets to maneuver balls through a course of arches. Whoever does it in the least amount of hits ultimately wins the games.

Frizbee golf is another great option. This game uses cage baskets to represent the hole. You set this somewhere in your yard and the goal is to land your frizbee into the net. You can make this very challenging by putting the net behind obstacles that you will have to maneuver around. Frizbee golf is incredibly addictive and you may be tempted to find an actual frizbee golf course in your area.

Beanbag games are starting to really gain popularity as well. Threehole beanbag toss games can be great for party situations. They make for great games for both kids and adults. Conversely the further away you put the boards the more challenging it is for adults. If you want to increase the fun, keep score and have door prizes for the winner of the games.

Ladder golf is another game that has gained popularity in the past years. To play this you simply throw a set of balls which are attached by a string, trying to get them to hook around the rung of the ladder. Each run has a different point value, and the player who scores the highest wins.

Having outdoor games can liven up your garden party quite a bit. Go ahead and try a few games and see how the guests enjoy themselves.

Writing Groups Versus A Writing Partner

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
Early on in your journey as a writer, one thing you will hear a lot of people suggesting is that you get involved in some sort of writing group, as they imagine this will benefit you as you as you progress as a writer, growing your skills and your understanding of the craft, but while there are certainly some positives to writing groups, there are also some negatives, and in taking a look at these different attributes of writing groups, you will be better able to decide whether a writing group or a writing partner is the right fit for you.

The biggest pro of a writing group is the fact that you are provided with a great amount of accountability; one of the toughest things of getting started as a writer is finding the time to write on a consistent, daily basis, but when you need to have a piece to present to your writing group each week, this can help you to be far more motivated.

At the same time, being stuck showing your new work all the time is one of the inherent negatives in being a part of a writing group, and while the time is sometimes "right" for you to show fresh work to other readers - and to have it critiqued by them - there are also times when this is not especially beneficial, particularly early on in any particular piece you are working on.

One of the benefits of having a writing partner, instead of a writing group, is that you can develop a relationship with one person whose opinion you respect, and you will then be able to share your work with them when the work is ready, rather than simply because a schedule tells you it is time to share your work. But of course, you will also need to be self-motivated in order to get your writing done when you are not facing deadlines by which you must show your work - so before you make a commitment to one side or the other as an upstart writer, make sure you are weighing the pros and cons of each side, and are choosing the side that is right for you!

Attracting Wild Birds to Your Home

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
It is always enjoyable to see wild birds taking up residence around your place. Nature has a way of being very good for the soul and that include the little songbirds that flitter around singing their little hearts out. You can encourage wild birds to hang around your house by implementing simple feeders and houses for them to live in.

Birdhouses come in many shapes and sizes, and different birds nest in different houses. Houses with smaller openings help to attract song birds because they are more petite then many other birds. Look for simple houses made from unpainted wood with a hinged top for easy cleaning at the end of the nesting season. Pine and cedar boxes work very well for birdhouse materials.

Another way to attract birds is to have the appropriate foods for them in feeders along with the flowers that you have planted around your house. You can attract humming birds, for example, by providing a combination of humming bird feeders along with planted bee balm and columbine. You may need multiple humming bird feeders depending on how many of these little birds decide to stay in your area.

If you wish to attract the oriole into your yard, consider placing string out for nesting material along with orange halves on platforms. Orioles also like grape jelly, so there are special oriole feeders that are designed specifically for that. Orioles are great because of their beautiful song along with their spash of color.

Other wild birds can be attracted to your yard by having simple bird feeders and platforms. Many song birds eat happily from special thistle feeders with tiny holes so that the thistle doesn't fall out. Platforms can have larger seed put into it such as sunflower. The birds you see with greatly be determined by the foods that you provide.

Not only can watching birds be a relaxing hobby over all, it is also great to wake up in the morning to the songs the birds provide. Try to make your yard a bit more bird friendly this summer and see what birds you can attract.

How To Save Money On Your Family Ski Trip

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
A lot of parents dream of taking a family ski vacation, but because of the costs involved in such a trip, they write the idea off as impossible. They figure there is no way to get around the sky-high costs of a ski trip. But actually, you can take a wholly affordable ski vacation by following just a few simple tips.

First off, you need to have an understanding of peak ski times. These peak times fall during the times of year when conditions are likely to be at their best, during the coldest months. If you plan to take a ski vacation in October or late March, rather than in December or January, you can get much better prices on lift tickets. Also, plan to ski midweek, instead of on weekends, and schedule the trip for a time when schools are not on holiday. Not only will this save you money, but it will also help you to avoid those big crowds that can be such a nuisance on the slopes.

Secondly, if you are planning to look into a week-long trip, consider the idea of skiing on only half of those days. While this might seem as though you are sacrificing the fun and memories of your family vacation just to save a bit of cash, you will actually find that this is a very good idea in a number of ways. Not only will you save money by skiing three days and hanging out at the condo or resort the other three days, but you will also find that everyone will be more than happy doing this! If you are not a family that skis all the time, you will probably find that everyone is exhausted at the end of each day. Your family will be thrilled when they get to sleep in and drink hot cocoa all day, sitting by a fire while they play board games or watch movies or read. By the time your day of rest is over, you will be ready to hit the slopes again.

Finally, consider renting equipment at a shop in town, rather than at the mountain itself. Most towns around ski resorts are filled with shops that rent out ski equipment, and you will usually find that you can get a much better deal at such shops - especially on a week-long rental - than you could get at the mountain.

Perhaps you have been dreaming of taking a ski vacation with your family, but have assumed that there is no way you can make it happen. If this is the case, think again! If you follow these simple tips, you just might save enough to find that this dream vacation is actually a reality.
