Making Money Off Of Fantasy Sports

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
If you have ever played fantasy sports, you may have felt jealous of those people who you see on television, getting paid to do nothing but talk about fantasy sports; one thing you may not have realized, however, is that you can actually make money off of fantasy sports as well - and while you might not make a living off of fantasy sports, making any money at all would be nothing to complain about!

Winning the leagues you are in is the best stepping stone for making money off of fantasy sports, as this will give you both the prize money from the league and the know-how and confidence to make money off of your opinions and advice; if you win only one out of every 10 leagues you are in (assuming standard 10-team leagues), you will be breaking even - and you will make a profit, of course, if you are able to win more leagues than that!

After you have studied and begun to experience success in the leagues in which you take part, you can also begin sharing your knowledge with others in order to make money; you can do this by setting up a website of your own, on which you give fantasy advice, or you can join up with a site such as Bleacher Report, which will help you to quickly climb high in search engine rankings, and to start building a readership right away.

And selling an eBook is one of the most lucrative ways to make money with fantasy sports (and in fact, if you have studied enough to truly become an "expert," you can sell a new eBook at the start of each season!); try giving away a piece of the eBook for free, and use this as a bit of bait to draw people in for the full purchase!

The more time you spend studying and understanding fantasy sports, and the longer you have been playing, the better position you will be in for making money - and soon, you will be able to get paid to have fun doing something that everyone else is doing for free!

Understanding Why You Have To Study For The SAT Essay

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
The most important part of your college entrance package - when that time comes - will be your SAT score or your ACT score. If you hope to achieve success on these tests, you have to spend a lot of time studying; so if the SAT is the test you have chosen to take, hopefully you have also been spending some time studying. But even many of those who have spent a significant amount of time studying end up spending no time looking at the things they will need to know for the SAT essay. After all (many people tend to think), an essay is an essay; if the prompts for each essay on the SAT is different, what is the point of studying? But once you understand how the SAT essay works, you will actually understand how important it is that you take the time to study for it!

The SAT essays are graded by people who have been hired to grade SAT essays all day long! These people must grade each essay quickly, as they are supposed to grade a certain number per hour in order to get through the stacks and stacks of essays around them. The SAT essay graders, generally speaking, only spend about five minutes grading each essay; because of this, they must look for specific things. And what's more, the scores that different graders give the same essay must match up closely; otherwise, the essay will end up going to a master grader. It is not good for these regular graders if their essays have to go to the master grader, so they have to follow the same grading procedure as every other grader!

Because of this, it will be immensely helpful if you know what the procedure is for these SAT graders. You will be able to focus on the items that are on the graders' checklists - making sure you fulfill these items - if you know what is on the checklists. Once you do this, those who are grading your essay will be able to mark "excellent" for every area they are looking for - knowing that the other graders are doing the same.

If you have been studying for the SAT, spend some time in the "essay" section of the book you have; and if you do not yet have an SAT study book, you need to pick one up!

Outdoor Party Game Ideas

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
Summer time is wonderful for cookouts on the patio while hanging out drinking cool drinks in the hot sun. Having a great summer party is what makes summer, summer. When you have a gathering of friends it is really fun to enjoy some outdoor games along with your food and beverages. You have a ton of options to choose from, like the classic horseshoes to bean bag games.

You can even play croquet and have a great time with some fun house rules. Croquet for those unfamiliar uses mallets to maneuver balls through a course of arches. Whoever does it in the least amount of hits ultimately wins the games.

Frizbee golf is another great option. This game uses cage baskets to represent the hole. You set this somewhere in your yard and the goal is to land your frizbee into the net. You can make this very challenging by putting the net behind obstacles that you will have to maneuver around. Frizbee golf is incredibly addictive and you may be tempted to find an actual frizbee golf course in your area.

Beanbag games are starting to really gain popularity as well. Threehole beanbag toss games can be great for party situations. They make for great games for both kids and adults. Conversely the further away you put the boards the more challenging it is for adults. If you want to increase the fun, keep score and have door prizes for the winner of the games.

Ladder golf is another game that has gained popularity in the past years. To play this you simply throw a set of balls which are attached by a string, trying to get them to hook around the rung of the ladder. Each run has a different point value, and the player who scores the highest wins.

Having outdoor games can liven up your garden party quite a bit. Go ahead and try a few games and see how the guests enjoy themselves.

Writing Groups Versus A Writing Partner

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
Early on in your journey as a writer, one thing you will hear a lot of people suggesting is that you get involved in some sort of writing group, as they imagine this will benefit you as you as you progress as a writer, growing your skills and your understanding of the craft, but while there are certainly some positives to writing groups, there are also some negatives, and in taking a look at these different attributes of writing groups, you will be better able to decide whether a writing group or a writing partner is the right fit for you.

The biggest pro of a writing group is the fact that you are provided with a great amount of accountability; one of the toughest things of getting started as a writer is finding the time to write on a consistent, daily basis, but when you need to have a piece to present to your writing group each week, this can help you to be far more motivated.

At the same time, being stuck showing your new work all the time is one of the inherent negatives in being a part of a writing group, and while the time is sometimes "right" for you to show fresh work to other readers - and to have it critiqued by them - there are also times when this is not especially beneficial, particularly early on in any particular piece you are working on.

One of the benefits of having a writing partner, instead of a writing group, is that you can develop a relationship with one person whose opinion you respect, and you will then be able to share your work with them when the work is ready, rather than simply because a schedule tells you it is time to share your work. But of course, you will also need to be self-motivated in order to get your writing done when you are not facing deadlines by which you must show your work - so before you make a commitment to one side or the other as an upstart writer, make sure you are weighing the pros and cons of each side, and are choosing the side that is right for you!

Attracting Wild Birds to Your Home

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
It is always enjoyable to see wild birds taking up residence around your place. Nature has a way of being very good for the soul and that include the little songbirds that flitter around singing their little hearts out. You can encourage wild birds to hang around your house by implementing simple feeders and houses for them to live in.

Birdhouses come in many shapes and sizes, and different birds nest in different houses. Houses with smaller openings help to attract song birds because they are more petite then many other birds. Look for simple houses made from unpainted wood with a hinged top for easy cleaning at the end of the nesting season. Pine and cedar boxes work very well for birdhouse materials.

Another way to attract birds is to have the appropriate foods for them in feeders along with the flowers that you have planted around your house. You can attract humming birds, for example, by providing a combination of humming bird feeders along with planted bee balm and columbine. You may need multiple humming bird feeders depending on how many of these little birds decide to stay in your area.

If you wish to attract the oriole into your yard, consider placing string out for nesting material along with orange halves on platforms. Orioles also like grape jelly, so there are special oriole feeders that are designed specifically for that. Orioles are great because of their beautiful song along with their spash of color.

Other wild birds can be attracted to your yard by having simple bird feeders and platforms. Many song birds eat happily from special thistle feeders with tiny holes so that the thistle doesn't fall out. Platforms can have larger seed put into it such as sunflower. The birds you see with greatly be determined by the foods that you provide.

Not only can watching birds be a relaxing hobby over all, it is also great to wake up in the morning to the songs the birds provide. Try to make your yard a bit more bird friendly this summer and see what birds you can attract.

How To Save Money On Your Family Ski Trip

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
A lot of parents dream of taking a family ski vacation, but because of the costs involved in such a trip, they write the idea off as impossible. They figure there is no way to get around the sky-high costs of a ski trip. But actually, you can take a wholly affordable ski vacation by following just a few simple tips.

First off, you need to have an understanding of peak ski times. These peak times fall during the times of year when conditions are likely to be at their best, during the coldest months. If you plan to take a ski vacation in October or late March, rather than in December or January, you can get much better prices on lift tickets. Also, plan to ski midweek, instead of on weekends, and schedule the trip for a time when schools are not on holiday. Not only will this save you money, but it will also help you to avoid those big crowds that can be such a nuisance on the slopes.

Secondly, if you are planning to look into a week-long trip, consider the idea of skiing on only half of those days. While this might seem as though you are sacrificing the fun and memories of your family vacation just to save a bit of cash, you will actually find that this is a very good idea in a number of ways. Not only will you save money by skiing three days and hanging out at the condo or resort the other three days, but you will also find that everyone will be more than happy doing this! If you are not a family that skis all the time, you will probably find that everyone is exhausted at the end of each day. Your family will be thrilled when they get to sleep in and drink hot cocoa all day, sitting by a fire while they play board games or watch movies or read. By the time your day of rest is over, you will be ready to hit the slopes again.

Finally, consider renting equipment at a shop in town, rather than at the mountain itself. Most towns around ski resorts are filled with shops that rent out ski equipment, and you will usually find that you can get a much better deal at such shops - especially on a week-long rental - than you could get at the mountain.

Perhaps you have been dreaming of taking a ski vacation with your family, but have assumed that there is no way you can make it happen. If this is the case, think again! If you follow these simple tips, you just might save enough to find that this dream vacation is actually a reality.

Pets That Are Good For Kids

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
If it has come time to buy a pet for your children, you might be exploring options besides a dog, either because you feel a dog would be overwhelming or because you are unable to have a dog. After all, your kids might promise that they will take care of the dog, but you know the truth: it will become your responsibility; furthermore, a puppy can be nearly as much work as an extra child, which makes the whole idea less appealing; or, maybe you want a dog, but you live in a place that does not allow them. Whatever the case may be, there are plenty of tremendous alternatives to dogs. Here are four of the best.

Fishes are easy to take care of, and they are not messy, which makes them great pets for kids. All you have to do is make sure your child understands how important it is that they not overfeed their fish, and they will then be set to take care of the fish all on their own.

Much like fishes, hamsters don't make much of a mess, as they remain confined to their cage. Hamsters are very easy to take care of, but keep in mind that your children may desire a pet they can watch in action, and hamsters typically burrow and sleep during the day.

Finches are not only pretty birds, but they are also friendly and low-maintenance, which makes them great for kids. Some bird owners will complain of the mess that birds make, but as long as you keep the bird in its cage, it is easy to clean up after it by simply replacing the newspaper at the bottom of its cage every couple of days. Just remember that you should plan to keep the finch in a room no one sleeps in, as they can make noise at night.

Cats are a great, low-maintenance alternative to dogs. Cats like to take care of themselves, which is great for you, because it means you will not have to do much for them; they clean themselves, go to the bathroom on their own, and even "go for walks" on their own! Most cats are friendly and playful as well, which further entrenches them as a great option if you have kids.

Until your family is ready to take on the extra work and responsibility of a dog at last, you can have fun with these alternatives.

JRR Tolkien's "The Hobbit"

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
If you have watched the Lord of the Rings movies, you are probably familiar with the fact that - even before "Lord of the Rings" was ever written or published - there was a book called "The Hobbit," but in spite of the fact that you probably know the book exists, you may have never read the book yourself, and you might not even know much about it at all.

Even though JRR Tolkien knew what happened after "The Hobbit," he had no intentions of writing that story (that is to say, "Lord of the Rings"); due to the success of the "The Hobbit," however, he gave in and decided to write the entire story - everything that happened after "The Hobbit" ended.

As is indicated throughout the movies, "The Hobbit" tells the story of how the ring came to be in Bilbo Baggins's possession, but the book also introduces a number of characters and story lines that pop up again in the movies and in the "Lord of the Rings" books. The most interesting thing about reading "The Hobbit," however, is the manner in which it was written; while "Lord of the Rings" was written with an audience of college students and older in mind, "The Hobbit" was written in such a way that it can appeal to children - and much like the great "children's works" that came before and after it (works such as Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland," CS Lewis's Narnia books, and JK Rowling's Harry Potter series), these books appeal to adults as much as they appeal to children!

If you are a fan of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, you owe it to yourself to make sure you read "The Hobbit"; but even if you are not a huge fan of those books - if you are just a fan of great literature, or if you are simply looking for a fun book to keep you company for a week or two this summer - you should consider giving Tolkien's "The Hobbit" a look.

All-Inclusive Vacations Versus Cruises

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
The cruise was the vacation of choice for years and years among those couples who wanted to keep things simple, and among those honeymooning couples just starting their life together, and even among those families who did not want to have to worry all week about extra expenses. After all, if you take a cruise, you are able to visit a whole bunch of different locations all at once, without needing to do any of the heavy traveling yourself. You are also afforded the opportunity to participate in activities on a cruise, and to interact with lots of other people; in recent years, however, the all-inclusive resort has begun to take over. These all-inclusive resorts - much like the cruises themselves - allow people to eat and drink as much as they want, without worrying about paying any extra. Most all-inclusive resorts also are packed with planned activities and events, much like a cruise. If you are trying to decide which is right for you - a cruise or an all-inclusive resort - it is important to realize that the two are very similar, but that there are also a few distinct differences.

The most obvious difference, of course, is the fact that cruises allow you to visit a bunch of different locations. While a lot of all-inclusive resorts make trips to local tourist sites available, it is not the same as being on a boat that travels all over a certain area.

One of the things an all-inclusive resort provides, however, which a cruise cannot match, is the ability for you to choose what you want to do. On a cruise, your big decisions regarding sightseeing are confined to whether you will stay on the boat or leave the boat. If you want to pick and choose which sights you visit, as well as picking and choosing how long you will stay, an all-inclusive resort allows you to do so.

The structure of the options is certainly one of the most major distinctions between a cruise and an all-inclusive resort. On a cruise, the rooms are typically small and uncomfortable, and are meant to be slept in only at night. At an all-inclusive resort, however, you can find that you are just as comfortable in your room as you are doing anything else available. Probably the biggest question you must answer in deciding between the two is this: do I want to be active all the time, or do I want the choice between activity and inactivity? Your answer to this question will help lead you to the right decision for you.

All Terrain Vehicles and an Essential Tool for Them

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
It is time to get out your ATV. All around the country the snow has pretty much melted from the ATV trails allowing ATV riders to begin driving them once again. This is an important time to remember how important it is to properly equip your ATV in order to make your fun safe too. An essential piece of machinery for all ATVs is the winch. An ATV can pull another ATV that is in a troubling situation out of that situation and back to the trail. This is essential in situations where an ATV cannot be driven out.

ATVs can often be flipped or stuck while riding through the rough terrain they are made for. The rider of the vehicle will need one of his fellow riders to help free him. These situations are where the company Superwinch and its many different winch products can help. Their LT2000 series is one of the best. Ease of use and power are their best features. They can be permanently installed on an ATV or carried with as a portable winch and used when needed.

They are meant to use as little power from your ATV as possible while still being powerful. A low amp draw sealed permanent magnetic motor is equipped on these winches in order to help save your battery power. When your vehicle's electrical system is shut off the motor also detects it. This way it does not draw off of your battery while your vehicle isn't running. The circuit breaker protection combined with this feature means you can be worry free regarding your battery charge.

1,000 to 30,000 pound winches are available from Superwinch and you will need to choose the best one for you. Any application you may have will be appropriate for one of the many winches that Superwinch offers today. A warranty is also issued by them for their materials and any flaws in the assembly. This warranty provides you with the peace of mind to use them hard.

Taking A Closer Look At Ernest Hemingway

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
If you have never read Ernest Hemingway's works, you may hear the name Hemingway and suddenly get intimidated, thinking that someone who is so highly regarded in the world of literature must of course have written works that were terribly difficult to read. But what many people do not realize about Ernest Hemingway is that one of the main things that made him such a grand figure in the landscape of literature is the fact that he was one of the first writers to make his work truly accessible to all readers, which means that – even today – just about anyone can read Ernest Hemingway and thoroughly enjoy him.

Ernest Hemingway's second published novel, The Sun Also Rises, is the best place to begin if you are wanting to get to know his writing; this story follows a group of American expatriates in Paris following World War I, watching them as they simply live their lives – and although this book has nothing “thrilling” about it, it was this book that brought Paris back to the forefront during the 1920s.

Hemingway's adventurous spirit and big persona were as big a part of his image as his writing, as he was known for doing everything from fighting bulls to hunting in Africa to boxing to participating in every war he could find; after participating as a war correspondent in the Spanish Civil War, Hemingway wrote the novel For Whom The Bell Tolls – and since its publication in 1940, this novel has grown into one of the most important novels of the 20th century.

The works that followed For Whom The Bell Tolls were not as highly regarded, and Hemingway's stock with the reading public began to fall, but all of this changed in 1954 when Hemingway published a small novella called The Old Man and the Sea – which won Hemingway a Pulitzer Prize, and encouraged the Nobel Prize committee to give him the coveted Nobel Prize in Literature!

After reading these three works, you may actually want to read all of Hemingway's works – but if you are looking for an introduction to Hemingway, these three works are the perfect way to begin!

Tips For Turning A Bad Fantasy Football Season Around

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
If you play in a lot of different fantasy football leagues, having a bad season in one will really not be that big of a deal, as you can essentially stop caring about that team and can instead focus on the other teams in your league; but if, on the other hand, you are only in one or two leagues, it can be especially frustrating when one of your teams is severely underperforming - and it can be even more frustrating for the fact that it can seem like there is no way to turn it around!

Of course, it is difficult at times to turn around a poor fantasy football season, but one thing that is beneficial in your pursuit of turning around a bad fantasy football season is that you pay attention to the matchups a player has; when your season is going poorly, try to pick up and trade for players whose bad matchups are mostly behind them, and who are likely to score more points as the season progresses due to a favorable schedule.

Of course, as you keep your eyes out for players who are heading toward a favorable schedule, you will essentially be keeping your eyes out for players whose performance will soon be on the rise, and another way to go about doing this is to keep your eyes open for players who are currently backups, but who might be primed to take over someone else's job - either because the player in front of them is not playing well, or because the player in front of them is prone to injuries!

And realize that the schedule in fantasy football has a lot to do with your record, so if your record is looking dumpy at the moment, there is a good chance that things are not really as bad as they seem - and when you hang in there and have a bit of patience, things will eventually even out.

Just because your fantasy football season is not going well does not mean that it is a lost cause; apply these tips to your team, and you can start to find ways to turn things around!

Grinding Coffee Beans Properly

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
When you are preparing coffee, one of the most important things will be that you have good coffee beans that you are working with - but while most coffee lovers are aware of this, many of them fail to realize that it is also possible to ruin good coffee beans by grinding them improperly. Firstly, be aware of the fact that it is best to grind your own beans at home, as coffee tastes better the more recently the beans were ground (and of course, if you are buying a bag of already-ground beans at the grocery store, these beans have probably been in the bag for months!). But even beyond this knowledge, you should realize that there are some specifics you should know for grinding the coffee itself.

French press: If you are preparing your coffee with a french press, you will need to make sure that you are grinding the beans for less time, so that they are coarser than they would normally be; otherwise, you will end up with "gritty" coffee, as the finer grounds will end up mixed into the coffee itself.

Standard coffee maker: Of course, many standard coffee makers these days grind the beans on their own - which will eliminate this step of the process for you - but if you are using a standard coffee maker and are still grinding your own beans, you will want to make sure the beans are ground standard, as beans that are too fine will give off a bitter taste, and beans that are too coarse will not give off enough flavor.

Espresso: And if you are brewing espresso at home, you should realize that it is extremely important for the beans to be ground very fine. If you fail to grind the beans fine, you will end up with what amounts to weak-tasting coffee, instead of strong-tasting espresso!

As you prepare your coffee at home, keep these tips in mind, and you can be sure that you will consistently achieve the results you desire.

Pruning Shrubs and Trees

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
Do you have an unruly piece of shrubbery in your yard that you just don’t know what to do with it? If you don't want to competely rip out this plant, you may wish to consider pruning it. It is really easy to prune plants, expecially after you learn some of the rules.

First things first, what do you prune off? Take a close look at your plant. Start by removing any dead branches that you see. Removing the dead branches will help improve health along with appearance. Now remove any diseased areas from the plant. You must remove at least one branch of any set of branches that rub together. The reason we remove one of these branches is that over time the branches can open up a wound in the plant and allow for disease to enter it. Never remove more then a third of the plants grown in any given year when pruning.

Your next question may be when should I prune my plants? Honestly the answer to this question depends on the type of plant you have and its function. Do you have a blooming shrub such as a lilac or forsythia?  These blooming shrubs need to be pruned immediately after they are done blooming for the year. Most of the flowering shrubs set the buds for next year’s blooms on that year’s new growth. If on the other hand your plant is more like a non flowering hedge or other non flowering shrubs, you can prune them before bud break in late winter or very early spring. These plants would include shrubs such as dogwood, burning bush, and honey suckles.

Not only does pruning your shrubs help them stay healthy but it also helps to keep them visually appealing. Pruning ultimately encourages the shrub to put on fuller growth. It is necessary to prune shrubs to keep them in a hedge if you prefer to have one. Also learning to prune correctly can really reduce the amount of stress your plant has to go through.

How To Paint Freehand

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
Painting can be a fun way to pass a pleasant evening outdoors even if you are not gifted as a painter – but even if you know that you do not know how to paint, you will probably enjoy it a lot more if you feel good about what you're painting. Of course, painting something good is all about perspective if you are painting an abstract piece, as you can simply splash paint on the canvas and say that it looks good as long as you feel that it does, but if you are wanting to paint something real, it can be a bit more difficult – so here are a few tips to help you out if you're trying to paint freehand.

In spite of the fact that the canvas will not have an actual outline for you, picturing an outline will help you to do a good job once you put the paint brush to the canvas itself; before you start painting, get an idea of what you want the canvas to look like when you finish, and try to picture what an outline would look like if it were there, as this will help to guide you.

You should start out small and “cautious” early on in the painting process, as this will help you to minimize your mistakes; the further into your painting you go, the more broadly you can start working, expanding out from the small parts of the outline to the bigger parts.

And eventually, you have to be willing to throw caution to the wind; even for the best painters, not everything turns out exactly the way they expect it to, but often this is part of the beauty of the finished product itself.

The more often you paint, the better you will become – but even if you only paint recreationally every once in a while, you can follow these tips to help you paint something that you can be happy with every single time!

Picking Movies You And Your Significant Other Enjoy

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
The majority of couples find themselves watching a lot of movies together, which can be difficult because of the fact that each member of the couple often has a different and unique taste in the movies they like. Of course, couples learn to deal with this while they are dating, and it is certainly not a big enough issue (for most people, at least!) to cause a relationship to end, but while many couples see this as something they must simply deal with - which puts the couple in a position where one or the other member of the couple is constantly stuck watching movies they do not enjoy - there are actually a few things any couple can do to try to remedy this problem.

When it comes to finding movies each person will enjoy, the best approach is often to go with the "three movie cycle," where the girl gets to choose a movie, the guy gets to choose a movie, and then the two get to choose a movie together; in this way, each person will be able to be assured of at least two movies out of every three that they will enjoy.

Of course, all on its own, it can present trouble to try to "select a movie each person will enjoy"; even though the two people may have totally different tastes in movies, it can help to figure out which movies each person enjoys, and then to establish which genres your couple should select from when selecting a movie together.

And oftentimes, establishing which actors and actresses each person enjoys is an even better way to select a movie together; typically, an actor or actress will be in the same types of movies, which will help the couple decide on movies they enjoy together - and at the least, each person will be able to watch an actor or actress they truly enjoy!

Each member of a couple can easily stay happy while picking movies, as long as you keep this method in mind and make sure you are taking this approach!

Understanding How To Get Along With Your Teenagers

The Watchery" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://The Watchery">http://The Watchery
No matter what age they are or what stage you are at in the parenting process, children can be an absolute joy, but as anyone with teenagers can tell you, children can also be a monumental trial all on their own! Although you will never be able to completely get along with anyone, not even your own children – there are a few things you can do to ensure you are getting along with them as best you can, and this goes for teenagers just as much as it goes for your children at any other age.

Many parents get into the habit of wanting to be their children's “friend,” and while you certainly want to be able to get along with your children – to a point where you can feel like the two of you get along the same way you do with your friends – it is even more important that you have the respect of your children; establishing respect and authority is the first step to having a good relationship with your children, as they are more likely to behave when they have respect for you, and this will open the doors for the two of you to get along just fine!

In addition to making sure that you cultivate respect from your teenager to you, you will also need to make sure you are reciprocating this respect toward them; in addition to establishing authority, make sure you are also opening yourself up to listen to them – their thoughts, ideas, and suggestions of what you can do as a parent.

Once you have gotten these “parenting” aspects taken care of, you can focus on the fun part of having a relationship with your teenager – and that is, simply having fun with them. You will certainly still face trials with your teenager, but continue to look for opportunities to have fun with and make memories with your teenager, as this will go a long way in strengthening your relationship, and in keeping it strong for a long time to come!
